Taiwan Mobile Implements Trinity to Replace Existing Teradata Automation

In recent years, as competition in the telecom market has intensified, mobile commerce providers have begun placing greater emphasis on data automation, big data analytics, and open data as critical tools for gaining a competitive edge. There is also a growing recognition of the need to focus more strategically on high-value customer segments.

Taiwan Mobile—one of Taiwan’s top three telecom operators—implemented Trinity ETL to replace its legacy ETL tool, Teradata Automation’s ETL Lite. The migration and ETL planning were supported by the expert consulting team from NetPro’s Trinity division. In addition to replacing the original tool, Taiwan Mobile also adopted the Trinity UDM module to collect and process unstructured data, such as web content and site information.

The client emphasized that after adopting Trinity as its new ETL solution, the platform’s flexibility, high performance, integration capabilities, and customizability played a key role in system implementation. The efficiency of data processing has increased by more than 50%.

Mr. Hung-Mou Lin, General Manager of the Business Intelligence Division, stated:
“This collaboration extended far beyond simply replacing a tool. The Trinity team provided comprehensive consulting on overall ETL architecture design and front-end implementation. Their close support ensured a smooth migration, deployment, and go-live process. Beyond replacing Teradata ETL Lite, we also plan to consolidate other ETL tools currently in use across Taiwan Mobile’s various business units. This will streamline our IT environment and significantly reduce annual maintenance costs.”
