Taoyuan International Airport Corporation Implements Trinity Enterprise and Trinity Metaman Metadata Management Module to Strengthen Data Processing and Information Governance

Taoyuan International Airport Corporation (hereafter referred to as “the Corporation”) was officially restructured in 2010, and has since continually advanced its infrastructure and services through key projects such as the Airport MRT system, terminal expansion, and runway upgrades. During the pandemic, the Corporation implemented rigorous cleaning and disinfection measures, earning certification under the Airports Council International’s “Airport Health Accreditation” program. These efforts underscore its commitment to providing a safe, high-quality environment for travelers. With an emphasis on innovation and smart technologies, the Corporation continues to evolve as a global gateway airport.

To address the transition between legacy and modern systems, the Corporation has strengthened and upgraded its terminal systems and IT resources. As part of this initiative, it implemented Trinity Enterprise along with the Trinity Metaman metadata management module to establish a comprehensive data processing and information governance framework, enabling more efficient integration and management of existing data assets.

Prior to the pandemic, the airport handled an average of 17 million arrivals and departures annually, reinforcing the need for a smooth and responsive traveler experience. Each day, massive volumes of data are generated—ranging from passenger and cargo manifests to flight schedules and baggage handling statistics. IT staff must continuously monitor and manage this data to support real-time responses and ensure accurate reporting and analytics.

With Trinity Enterprise, the Corporation is able to integrate directly with its existing databases and utilize high-speed bulk loading for massive batch data processing. Trinity also facilitates data exchange across legacy and modern platforms, significantly easing the workload on IT personnel. The platform includes advanced job control features—such as workflow sequencing, dependency configuration, and execution conditions—while also offering a centralized visual dashboard for monitoring job progress and detailed logs for auditing and troubleshooting.

To further enhance data transparency and collaboration, the Corporation has implemented Trinity Metaman to establish a structured metadata management process. This allows metadata relationships to be automatically linked, enabling information teams to quickly retrieve consistent and complete data definitions through a user-friendly interface. Definitions can be created for data types, business terms, business rules, operational contexts, core codes, related systems, program functions, and report structures. Trinity Metaman’s goal is to ensure governance integrity—so when metadata definitions change or jobs encounter errors, upstream and downstream dependencies can be traced, and affected processes identified promptly.

In addition to its current Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 operations, Taoyuan Airport is actively expanding Terminal 3 to accommodate surging passenger volumes. This expansion includes a new multifunctional building and supporting infrastructure. With data volumes expected to rise, the Corporation is also implementing Trinity Standby Server, enabling enterprise-grade high availability. The Active-Standby architecture ensures uninterrupted task execution, while high-performance server resource management and client-side load balancing optimize system reliability and resilience.
