Cathay United Bank Adopts Trinity ETL & Trinity JCS to Enhance Enterprise Innovation and Efficiency

Cathay United Bank, known as the largest private bank in Taiwan in terms of branch coverage, holds a leading position in securities settlements, credit card services, and wealth management. Renowned for its commitment to continuous innovation and superior customer service, the bank has demonstrated outstanding performance in the consumer finance sector. Supporting this success is a robust IT team that manages and processes billions of daily transactions across business lines, handling large-scale data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) from diverse sources into multiple target databases.

To further improve quality and operational efficiency in step with technological advancements, Cathay United Bank conducted a rigorous evaluation of technical capabilities, features, and performance benchmarks. As a result, the bank selected Trinity ETL for enterprise data integration and Trinity JCS for job scheduling management—key tools in advancing its IT strategy and digital transformation goals.

With the implementation of Trinity ETL, Cathay United Bank established new workflows for data extraction, transformation, and loading—feeding Oracle and Teradata data warehouses to support precise and timely decision-making reports. The project also migrated all existing ETL job scheduling tasks to the Trinity platform, achieving unified, centralized control through a single user interface.

The project spanned multiple environments and involved a comprehensive Trinity deployment that enabled end-to-end automation with high-level security and high availability. Given the complexity of the job flow design, Trinity JCS’s strengths in scheduling were fully leveraged, including features for process orchestration, dependency configuration, and group-based job design. These enhancements significantly reduced the limitations and complexity of previous tools, allowing the IT team to monitor and manage job activity seamlessly through an intuitive visual interface.

Project Manager Mei-Ying Chen, who oversaw the implementation, noted: “This was a wide-ranging and technically intensive project. After multiple technical consultations and validations, Cathay United Bank recognized Trinity’s powerful capabilities during the POC phase, leading to full approval, implementation, and a successful go-live.”

The experience from this deployment demonstrated the unique strengths of Trinity ETL and Trinity JCS in addressing both technical and business process challenges, earning high praise and trust from the client.
