ETMall Enhances Data Value with Trinity Address Normalization Module
ETMall, the largest television shopping brand in Taiwan and a flagship of the Eastern Media Group, holds the distinction of being the first TV shopping operator in the country and the current market leader. As a dominant force in the industry, ETMall broadcasts across five channels simultaneously and has expanded its reach to streaming TV platforms, enabling it to engage a broader audience, including households without traditional cable. This growing customer base has led to a continuous need to upgrade their systems to handle the surging volume of data.
With an average of over 1 million valid orders per month, accurate recipient addresses are critical for ensuring precise and timely deliveries. Given this volume, it is not uncommon for incorrect or incomplete address information to cause fulfillment issues. Complicating matters further, administrative districts and street names in Taiwan are subject to periodic changes, resulting in discrepancies between customer-submitted addresses and the latest data maintained by the Department of Household Registration. These discrepancies—such as missing or outdated information, inconsistent formats, or character encoding issues—can significantly increase logistics costs and erode profit margins.
After learning about the Trinity AN (Address Normalization) module developed by NetPro Information Co., ETMall adopted the solution to standardize, validate, and extract address data across Taiwan with a high degree of accuracy, synchronized with official national datasets. The module integrates household registration data and postal codes from Chunghwa Post to create a “standard address database,” enabling precise and reliable address corrections.
Senior Product Marketing Manager Mr. Cheng-Hung Huang, who led the project, commented: “ETMall is one of many business entities under the Eastern Group. Through Trinity AN, we were able to standardize all customer address data effectively. Beyond simple correction, accurate addresses also allow us to leverage customer data more effectively for broader applications.”
The deployment of this module not only significantly improved the accuracy of ETMall’s address database but also supported the company’s broader goal of enhancing operational efficiency and profitability.
