Innolux Corporation adopts Trinity ETL to replace Teradata Automation

As a global leader in the optoelectronics industry, Innolux Corporation operates extensive manufacturing facilities and sales networks across the world. Its global footprint demands a fast, innovative, and intelligent management platform—not only to enhance internal operational efficiency but also to deliver timely and accurate order fulfillment information to customers. To support this, continuous enhancement of data processing capabilities is essential to ensure smooth and agile workflows across the enterprise.

Innolux’s primary manufacturing hubs are located in Zhunan and Tainan, Taiwan, with overseas module plants in cities such as Ningbo, Nanjing, Foshan, and Shanghai in China. In this project, the Trinity team supported Innolux in replacing its legacy ETL system—Teradata Automation, which had been in use for over a decade—with the more modern and efficient Trinity ETL platform. In addition to replacing the ETL tool, the project also involved assisting third-party vendors in migrating from a Teradata database environment to a Greenplum database system.

By leveraging Trinity ETL’s powerful module capabilities, the solution integrated Greenplum’s parallel file distribution utility (gpfdist) to optimize external table reads and writes. This enabled high parallelism and significantly improved the stability and performance of data processing operations.

The Trinity project manager noted that Innolux handles more than 17,000 scheduled ETL jobs daily, many of which are complex and data-intensive. With professional planning and implementation support from the Trinity team, multiple Trinity Agents were deployed across facilities in both Taiwan and China. Additionally, a standby server mechanism was implemented to enhance system availability and stability. The successful deployment and seamless transition have since gone live, receiving high praise from Innolux for its operational improvements and strategic impact.
